Psychoeducational Evaluations
Proventus Psychoeducational Services provides comprehensive evaluations that focus on a variety of areas, including intelligence, academic achievement, attention, executive functioning, adaptive functioning, and social-emotional well-being. Our psychoeducational evaluations support individuals experiencing developmental challenges, such as difficulties with understanding directions, learning to read, managing social interactions, or handling academic tasks like reading comprehension and test taking. These challenges may persist despite the best efforts of families and educators, leading to feelings of frustration and helplessness. In such instances, a psychoeducational evaluation can offer valuable insights into individual needs and help identifying effective solutions. Following the evaluation, families will participate in a feedback session and receive a comprehensive written report. This detailed report outlines diagnostic impressions and identified educational disabilities, when relevant, along with evidence-based recommendations for effective instructional strategies, interventions, and accommodations.
Assessment Process

INTAKE SESSION
Having a discussion with the family about key elements, such as the child's family background, developmental milestones, academic achievements, and medical history. Clinicians may also collaborate with teachers to discuss any concerns observed in the school environment.
ASSESSMENT SESSIONS
Standardized assessments will be administered to assess the child's functioning across various areas. Additionally, behavioral observations and a clinical interview with the child may take place to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their needs.

DIAGNOSTIC CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
An analysis of previous evaluations, documents, past and present educational reports, and standardized rating scales completed by parents, teachers, and, if relevant, the child, along with the latest assessment results.

FEEDBACK SESSION
Together with the family, we will review the evaluation, discuss the results of each assessment, and provide a detailed written report that outlines a diagnostic impression, relevant educational disabilities, and evidence-based recommendations.
